Our programs use peer education to prevent HIV/AIDS by recognizing the enormous potential of student athletes to serve as role models to at-risk youth. The interactive curriculum incorporates over fifteen games and activities that encourage participatory and active learning.

The Team Up campaign will match ten middle school aged students in DC with students in Soweto, South Africa as pen pals. As they both undergo parallel Grassroot Programs, the students will exchange homemade videos to develop personal ties with their “teammates” oceans away. At the program’s end, they will all unite in South Africa spending a week playing soccer, sharing stories, and working together on a project to spread awareness of the effects of HIV/AIDS in both communities.
