Why do you want to go to South Africa?
One reason I would love to go to South Africa is that I think this would be a good experience for me. No one in my family has ever traveled outside the United States and I would be the first. I would learn about the culture of South Africa and meet friends.

Why is HIV/AIDS important to you?
HIV/AIDS is important to me because it is a disease that can kill. I have to learn about the causes of HIV/AIDS so that I can tell the people around me; my family members, my friends and my community. This disease affects 1 out of 20 people in DC. I live in DC so I am at risk. When I learn about the disease I can protect myself and others.

What are you most excited about?
I am most excited about going to South Africa. It will be my first time getting on a plane and travelling without my family. I cannot wait to see what a plane looks like for real.

HIV/AIDS is important to me because I don’t want others or myself to contract the deadly disease. HIV/AIDS is a preventable disease. If more people are educated about HIV/AIDS, then we could prevent millions of death.

What are you most excited about?
I am most excited about seeing the style of dress, traditions and tasting the foods. I am also excited about riding on an airplane for 24 hours. I’ve never been on an airplane that long. Witnessing a soccer game will also be another first for me. I am thrilled that we are going to be a part of world history. I can’t wait to leave.

HIV/AIDS is important to me because, many people in Washington, DC are infected with the disease.  I have learned a lot about HIV/AIDS prevention and want to share my knowledge with others in the world. I want children like me to realize that HIV/AIDS is easily preventable.

What are you most excited about?
I am excited because we get to go to the World Cup, a very prestigious event. I am also looking forward to seeing how South Africa appears in person. I want to see the city life and culture. This is going to be a great life experience for me. I hope to go, enjoy myself and learn lots of information about my heritage.

I am most excited about going to not just another country, but a continent. I’m ecstatic about going to the World Cup Series! This will be the first soccer game that I’ve ever been to. I’m also excited about tasting the delicious food and experiencing a great culture.
